A new energy opportunity

Turn suitable land into a professionally planned solar energy project

A solar farm is a long-term infrastructure project. Depending on the applicable project and scheme structure, eligible participants may develop a ground-mounted solar power plant themselves or work with a developer. Landowners may also consider lease-based arrangements where permitted. We study land suitability, access, nearby electrical infrastructure, evacuation possibilities, project economics, documentation, and the applicable regulatory route before recommending a project structure.

Site & feasibility

Your land is the starting point — feasibility comes first

Not every parcel of land is equally suitable for a solar farm. We evaluate location, land characteristics, access, shading, terrain, nearby substations, evacuation possibilities, project size, and applicable approvals. Under PM-KUSUM Component A, eligible ground-mounted projects are generally described in the 500 kW to 2 MW range, with locations preferably near substations to help reduce sub-transmission cost and losses.

Long-term operation

From project planning to ongoing solar farm care

A solar farm is not only about installation. Cleaning, preventive inspection, electrical checks, monitoring, fault support, vegetation management, equipment maintenance, documentation, and long-term service planning all matter. Tej Energy can structure operation, maintenance and AMC support around the project, equipment, ownership model, and agreed service requirements.

FAQs

Solar farm questions people commonly ask

Practical answers about land, project capacity, grid connection, revenue, documentation and maintenance.

Depending on the applicable project and scheme structure, a landowner may develop the project directly or lease suitable land to a developer or DISCOM. Under PM-KUSUM Component A, lease-based arrangements can provide lease income to the landowner where such an arrangement is used.

Eligibility depends on the project structure, land status, applicable scheme and State or DISCOM requirements. We review the proposed project and land arrangement first instead of assuming eligibility from occupation alone.

The applicable capacity depends on the project route, grid availability, land, evacuation arrangement, approvals and scheme conditions. PM-KUSUM Component A currently describes eligible plants generally in the 500 kW to 2 MW range, while specific project conditions may differ.

Grid connectivity and evacuation are important feasibility factors. PM-KUSUM Component A states that projects are preferably installed within a five-kilometre radius of a substation to help avoid high sub-transmission cost and reduce transmission losses. Actual feasibility depends on the specific site and notified capacity.

Under applicable grid-connected project structures, renewable electricity may be purchased by the DISCOM under the relevant power purchase arrangement. The applicable tariff and commercial structure depend on the project, state regulatory process and scheme conditions.

Some project structures allow a landowner to lease suitable land to a developer or DISCOM instead of developing the plant directly. Whether that route is available depends on the applicable scheme, project selection and local requirements.

Solar projects are designed as long-term infrastructure assets, but the actual commercial period depends on the project agreement, power purchase arrangement, equipment, financing, operating costs, regulatory conditions and plant performance. We prepare project-specific economic calculations rather than promising a fixed return period in advance.

Tej Energy can provide operation, maintenance and AMC support according to the project arrangement. The service scope can include preventive inspection, cleaning coordination, electrical checks, monitoring, fault support, equipment maintenance and site-level service planning.

Land records, ownership or lease documentation, site information, identification documents, electrical and grid information, project approvals and scheme-specific documents may be required. The exact document set depends on the project structure and the applicable authority.

There is no single investment amount or return period for every solar farm. Land area, plant capacity, evacuation cost, equipment, financing, tariff, generation, project structure and operating cost all affect the calculation. Our executive will prepare project-specific economics after reviewing your site information.
